Seattle Just Made Its Homeless Problem Worse

I went to Seattle last year, expecting to be really impressed by the city. To say the least, it left an impression, but for many of the wrong reasons. The one thing that stood out to me the most was the homeless population.

Fight, 2017, and Sherlock: Read Up!

Ask anyone in their right mind and they’ll tell you that 2017 was a pretty interesting year. From the changing political landscape to the Astros winning the World Series (word), there hasn’t been a dull moment.

My Last Full Day in Scotland

The previous day was so tiring that I decided to take my time getting out of bed. I must say that the bed and the apartment I stayed in were incredibly comfortable and peaceful. I got out of bed around 10 a.m.

Come Again. How Far Is the Airport?

As I mentioned in my prior post, I stopped by the “Bond in Motion” James Bond exhibit at one of the museums in the Covent Gardens area. I had about three hours before my flight back to Edinburgh left.

A Wondrous Day Trip to London

I made it back to Edinburgh from Fort William safe and sound. It took me a little while to get to the right bus because my bus app was confusing me. One of the train workers asked me if I needed help.

Glasgow to Fort William to…Harry Potter?

I had to be awake at four in the morning. I got to bed at a pretty decent hour, but that didn’t make a difference. The place was so quiet and the window next to the street so thin that I could practically hear the leaves being blown down the street.

Spending the Day in Downtown Glasgow

I know it has been three weeks since my last post, but the Houston Astros were in the playoffs and all my time was spent following them. It has finally (sort of) sunk in that we won the World Series. Absolutely amazing season.

    Tracking Buses and Missing Trains

When I got back from Stirling, I visited the National Gallery, which was an art museum in Edinburgh. I got there about 30 minutes before it closed. It was full of neo-classical art.

Stirling Castle, the Holy Rude and a Rude Woman

It was a late night getting to bed, which is why I stayed in bed later than I should have. I planned to take a little day trip to Stirling, but not one that was going to be all day. I learned my lesson from St. Andrews.

Confusion at the St. Andrews Train Station

St. Andrews was great. The train station? Not so much. It’s small. No one is there. And it’s worse at night. My train back to Edinburgh was bound to leave at approximately 8:45 pm.
